Meet the John Family – The Heart Behind Brachers Cottage
We’re the John family – a close-knit farming family of four: Tim, Charlotte, Naomi, and Steve.
Lambston has been our home for generations, with our family proudly farming this land in Pembrokeshire for over 125 years. It’s a place full of memories, hard work, and heritage – and now, it’s home to something new.
Two years ago, we made the difficult decision to step away from farming. But with a deep love for the land and a desire to keep its spirit alive, we set our sights on a new project: the renovation of a long-forgotten barn on our property.
This barn wasn’t just bricks and mortar – it once housed the Bracher family, who famously raised 12 children within its walls. Inspired by their story and the connection to the land, we chose to name the cottage Brachers Cottage, honouring both the past and the people who lived here before us.
Our vision was to create a self catering holiday cottage that felt truly welcoming to everyone. As family of all abilities, we understand first hand how difficult it can be to find accessible holiday accommodation, especially on the Pembrokeshire Coast. Brachers Cottage has been thoughtfully designed to be fully disabled-friendly – with step-free access, a walk-in shower, and ease of movement throughout.
We’ve also made sure it's a dog-friendly space, with a fully enclosed garden where four-legged guests can run free.
Brachers Cottage is our way of sharing a piece of Lambston with others – a place where history, comfort, coast and countryside come together.
Whether you choose to stay with us for a coastal adventure or quiet escape, we look forward to welcoming you to our Pembrokeshire home.
